Comic relief for the hard violence comes from Oh Daesu's buffoonery and his scientific pursuit of revenge. The light tone is helped by crosscuts of frozen tableaus, staring at the camera, punchline narration and voice overs slapped onto still faces and other characters, joking at Oh Daesu's expense.

The bad life (5 min)
Oh Daesu is arrested for harassment. At the police station, he mocks his accusers, tries to pee in the garbage can, attacks his accusers, apologises, tries to pee again, shows off his family photo and the present for got for his daughter's birthday, complains, waits, rolls on the floor, fights, is locked to the wall, is picked up by Joo Hwan, and insults the officers on the way out. Oh Daesu calls his daughter from a payphone to say happy birthday. Oh Daesu disappears.
Confined (10 min)
Oh Daesu is locked up in a hotel room and fed through a slot under the door. Oh Daesu begs the guard to know why and for how long he will be locked up. The guard ignores him. Oh Daesu threatens the guard. Oh Daesu is locked up for fifteen years. Oh Daesu is rendered unconscious by gas and given room service and is groomed. Oh Daesu watches TV and learns his wife has been murdered and he is the prime suspect. Oh Daesu tries to commit suicide. Oh Daesu plots revenge. Oh Daesu starts a prison diary writes down a list of everyone he has hurt to try to figure out who his captor is. Oh Daesu trains himself to be a fighter. Oh Daesu tattoos the time spent in prison on his hand. Oh Daesu tries to dig himself out of the prison with a chopstick. Oh Daesu breaks through to the outside. Oh Daesu is gassed, hypnotised, and released.
Released (10 min)
Oh Daesu is left in a suitcase on an apartment building rooftop. Oh Daesu is dressed in a suit and is well groomed. Oh Daesu finds a suicidal man preparing to jump. Oh Daesu asks the suicidal man to delay death in order to listen to his story of unfair imprisonment. Oh Daesu then refuses to listen to the suicidal man's story. The suicidal man kills himself. Oh Daesu harasses a woman in the elevator. Oh Daesu wanders the city. Oh Daesu fights street thugs. A homeless man gives Oh Daesu a wallet and cell phone. Oh Daesu eats at a restaurant and meets Mido. Oh Daesu gets a phone call from Lee Woojin, who taunts him. Oh Daesu eats a live squid in anger. Mido comforts Oh Daesu. Oh Daesu faints when Mido touches him.
Love at sight (8 min)
Oh Daesu wakes up in Mido’s apartment. Mido reads his prison journal. Mido checks his temperature. Oh Daesu tries to force himself on Mido. Mido beats him off. Oh Daesu apologizes. Mido comforts Oh Daesu. Mido recollects extreme loneliness and hallucinating about ants just like Oh Daesu did in prison.
Vengeance (15 min)
Oh Daesu and Mido search for Oh Daesu’s daughter. Mido poses as a reporter and learns Oh Daesu’s daughter has been adopted overseas. Oh Daesu decides to seek revenge before looking for his daughter. Oh Daesu and Mido search for the restaurant that made the fried dumplings he ate for fifteen years. Mido chats to an online friend about Oh Daesu, Oh Daesu is suspicious and leaves her. Oh Daesu finds the restaurant. Oh Daesu follows a delivery boy back to his prison. Oh Daesu tortures his prison warden, Park. Oh Daesu retrieves his personal prison file. Oh Daesu fights his way out of the prison. Oh Daesu is injured and falls in the street. Lee Woojin helps Oh Daesu and sends him back to Mido’s apartment.
Betrayed (15 min)
Mido mends Oh Daesu’s injuries. Oh Daesu listens to his prison files. Oh Daesu learns he was imprisoned for talking too much. Oh Daesu finds his old friend, Joo Hwan. Oh Daesu logs in online and learns Mido has shared his secret login with an “Evergreen”. Evergreen tells Oh Daesu he is no longer a suspect for his wife’s murder. Oh Daesu tortures Mido. Joo Hwan finds Evergreen’s address. Oh Daesu finds Lee Woojin. Lee Woojin gives Oh Daesu five days to find out why he was imprisoned, or he will kill Mido. Oh Daesu threatens Lee Woojin. Lee Woojin is unmoved. Oh Daesu does not kill Lee Woojin. Oh Daesu returns to Mido’s apartment to find she has been captured by Park. Oh Daesu tries to save Mido. Park tortures Oh Daesu. Lee Woojin saves Oh Daesu by bribing Park.
Love and death (10 min)
Mido thanks Oh Daesu for protecting her from Lee Woojin. Lee Woojin listens in as Oh Daesu and Mido consummate their love. Lee Woojin gives Oh Daesu Park’s severed hand as a gift. Oh Daesu gets rid of the listening devices Lee Woojin had placed on him. Oh Daesu finds out that Lee Woojin and his sister, Lee Soo Ah, both went to his highschool, and that Lee Soo Ah had died. Joo Hwan suggests Lee Soo Ah died because she was promiscuous. Lee Woojin kills Joo Hwan.
Root cause (10 min)
Oh Daesu finds the prison warden, Park, and leaves Mido locked up for her safety. Oh Daesu continues to pursue Lee Woojin on his own. Oh Daesu learns from an old classmate that he had something to do with Lee Soo Ah’s death. Oh Daesu remembers that he had exposed Lee Woojin and Lee Soo Ah’s incestuous relationship. Mido asks Oh Daesu to run away together now that he has found out the root cause of Lee Woojin’s hatred for him. Oh Daesu decides to finish his revenge with Lee Woojin instead.
Revelation (15 min)
A fork in the road (15 min)
Oh Daesu calls Mido and asks her not to open the box Park had given her. Oh Daesu begs Lee Woojin for forgiveness. Oh Daesu cuts out his own tongue. Lee Woojin tells Park to not show Mido the contents of the box. Oh Daesu tries to kill Lee Woojin, he fails. Lee Woojin kills himself. Oh Daesu finds the hypnotist to erase the knowledge that Mido is his daughter. Oh Daesu and Mido are reunited.
